Solve any percentage problem instantly — 6 calculators in one
Our free percentage calculator covers every type of percent problem. Whether you need to find the percentage of a number, work out percentage increase or decrease, add or remove a percentage, or calculate what percentage one number is of another — this percent calculator gives you the answer instantly with the formula shown.
Multiply the number by the percentage and divide by 100. For example: 15% of 240 = 240 × 15 ÷ 100 = 36. Use the first calculator above for instant results.
The percentage increase formula is: ((New Value − Old Value) ÷ Old Value) × 100. For example, from 50 to 75: ((75−50)÷50)×100 = 50% increase. The calculator above shows increases in green and decreases in red.
The percentage difference between two numbers uses the same formula as percentage change: ((|V2 − V1|) ÷ ((V1+V2)/2)) × 100. Use the increase/decrease calculator above for quick results.
To add 20% VAT: use calculator 4 — enter the net price and 20%. To remove VAT from a gross price: use calculator 5 — but note this gives the simple percentage, not the exact VAT reverse. For precise VAT calculations, use our dedicated VAT Calculator.
